Mawnan Memorial Hall
The Mawnan Memorial Hall, built in 1923, provides a venue for many organisations.
It shows films and puts on theatrical
entertainments with its link to Cornwall Art Trust's Carn to Cove initiative
- many entertainers from other parts of the country do one-night stands, which
are always well attended.
hall is also home to the local pantomine group
and there are many other musical events throughout the year.
There is an annual 15
day Craft Fayre at the beginning of August each year.

Baz Luhrman’s 2001 film
Christian, a young poet in 1899 Paris,
finds himself plunged into a passionate but ultimately tragic love affair
with Satine, the highest paid star at the Moulin Rouge. Their romance is played
out against the infamous club - a meeting place of high life and low, where
slumming aristocrats and the fashionable rich mingled with workers, artists,
Bohemians, actresses and courtesans.
Members who joined last January will need to renew their £5.00 membership.
Through our membership of
C Fylm, the community film club for Cornwall, we have access to a huge variety
of film titles and we welcome suggestions for future films.
