We specialise in high quality, traditional,
genuinely hand painted signage for business premises, shops, boats, public
houses and homes.
Our signwriter was one of the last in the country
to gain the City and Guilds qualification in traditional signwriting and
uniquely has an MA in design. We combine traditional methods of painting
by hand with the highest quality materials and the latest design technology
to ensure your sign is exactly what you are looking for.
Why have a hand painted sign?
Within conservation areas and on listed buildings,
traditional signage is often required for planning and aesthetic reasons.
Paint is a versatile material, and can often be used on surfaces such as
rough walls where vinyl would not be suitable. All signage is vulnerable
to environmental conditions, but a painted sign will fade gently and mellow,
as opposed to vinyl which can degrade rapidly. Painted signs can be easily
refreshed to bring them back to their former glory, whereas a vinyl sign
would have to be entirely replaced.
Hand crafted, unique works of art, our signs are
hand painted in the proper, traditional manner, using quality brushes and
painstaking workmanship. We are able to take your existing logos and artwork
from the digital age and reproduce them using a blend of traditional and
What does it cost?

We can paint directly on site or supply
finished boards ready for installation. Hand painted signage is extremely
versatile. We can paint on almost any surface - unlike vinyl which can only
be applied on smooth, flat finishes - and size is no issue. This makes the
painted option ideal for exterior rendered walls, interior plaster surfaces
and anything which has a curved or rough surface.
We produce high quality, beautifully designed signs
with a focus on classic typography. Our boards are produced on sustainably
produced FSC exterior plywood and treated with five professional paint coats
to give a hard wearing, long lasting and perfectly smooth surface. We only
ever use professional ‘One shot’ signwriting paints in all our
